Azarenka on professional players feeling like bad mothers: It's a hard feeling…
Victoria Azarenka has made it through to the fourth round at Wimbledon after beating Daria Kasatkina 6-2, 6-4 on Friday, but it was her post-match press conference that really got people talking.
She spoke about how difficult it has been to keep playing on the tennis tour, given that she is now a mother.
Wimbledon disrupted: Protesters invade court during match
“I’m a very privileged person that I have the ability to have help,” she started.
“Maybe not everybody has that, but I have as I’ve had help with nannies, with my family. They have been my support group.
“Now my son wants to come to my matches and it’s still a bit of a hard feeling for me because I get a bit distracted.
“I’ve tried that and it was very awesome moment to share, but, at the same time, it kind of takes me a bit, you know, into my mom mode too much rather than being a tennis player.”
