Leeds United transfer helps Chelsea continue £214m plan with deal ‘agreed’
Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea after the Welsh defender returned from his loan spell with Spezia at the end of last season. According to The Athletic, Leeds will pay £7 million plus additional add-ons in a permanent deal for the 22-year-old centre-back.
Juventus prepare Romelu Lukaku bid
According to Football Italia, Inter have ended negotiations with Chelsea after Lukaku and his lawyer Sebastien Ledure failed to answer calls from directors. Inter were prepared to offer £30million plus add-ons, after Juventus offered £32million plus £2million earlier in the week.
Sky Sports claim Chelsea have one more ‘serious’ offer for Lukaku, coming from Saudi club Al-Hilal. However, the Belgium international is unwilling to leave Europe, so he’s not expected to accept their offer.
Moises Caicedo improved bid prepared
According to Mail Sport, some Chelsea players have sought assurances that the club still intends to strengthen the squad with signings after losing some experienced heads. Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and N’Golo Kante have all left the club which has weakened Pochettino’s options in midfield.
Caicedo is pushing to complete a move to Stamford Bridge but Chelsea are yet to agree a transfer fee with Brighton. According to Nathan Gissing, Chelsea offered an initial fee £65million plus £5million add-ons offer for Caicedo rejected by Brighton last week.
Moises Caicedo is set to be part of Brighton’s pre-season tour to the USA, but the player is said to be ‘very unhappy’ an agreement for a move to Chelsea isn’t in place yet, according to Ben Jacobs. It has also been said that he expects progress to be made this week with Chelsea yet to formally lodge their first bid.
The Blues are thought to be preparing an improved offer in the region of £80million.
