Wimbledon 2023 Seeds: A look on how are the new players doing so far
The Wimbledon men’s singles tournament is ongoing, and we’ve got a sneak peek at the top 32 seeds. The legendary Novak Djokovic is seeded at No. 2, and with seven Wimbledon victories under his belt, including the last four consecutive tournaments, Djokovic is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with.
Djokovic remains the heavy favorite to clinch the title for the fifth year in a row. Bookmakers have installed him at -140 to win, with Carlos Alcaraz trailing at +350. The odds then take a significant jump to Medvedev at +1600. Djokovic has already triumphed at the Australian Open and the French Open, putting him halfway towards achieving the coveted calendar-year Grand Slam.
The Serbian sensation is determined to break more records at SW19 this year, having recently surpassed Rafael Nadal in the race for the most men’s Grand Slam titles. Djokovic sits just one behind Margaret Court‘s outstanding singles record of 24 slams and is also aiming to match Roger Federer‘s impressive eight Wimbledon titles.
To add to the astonishment, Djokovic hasn’t lost a completed match at Wimbledon since 2016. He boasts an unbeaten streak on Centre Court since 2013 and has accumulated a whopping 86 wins here, surpassing the combined total of wins from the rest of the men’s top 20, which stands at 85.
