Australian Open 2024 Odds: Who are this year's favorites to win the Australian Open?

The 2024 Australian Open is entering the semifinals stage after a thrilling tournament in Melbourne with the heat and high stakes combining for breathtaking tennis Down Under.

In the men’s singles, three of the top four seeds have made it through unscathed with Novak Djokovic rated as a heavy favorite to take the crown once again.

Djokovic will face Jannik Sinner in what has been billed as a grudge match after overcoming the Italian at the ATP Finals in November to make history in Turin.

And in the women’s draw, there is an opportunity for Aryna Sabalenka to capitalize on Iga Swiatek’s early exit with the Belarusian leading the odds with bookmakers.

She is joined by fourth seed Coco Gauff, Qinwen Zheng and the unseeded Ukrainian Dayana Yestremska in the last four.

Djokovic backed to make history

The Serbian is aiming to win a record-breaking 11th Australian Open title and 25th Grand Slam in total.

That would break the record set by Margaret Court after Djokovic equalled the Australian’s achievement by winning the US Open last year. And few would back against the 36-year-old from clinching his 11th Australian Open title in Melbourne.

That has been reflected in the betting stakes before their match on Friday, with the odds for Djokovic to beat Sinner shortening since the pair made it through to the last four. He is now as short as -135 with DraftKings and BetMGM, with Sinner rated at a best price of +310 by Bet365.

In the other semi-final, Alexander Zverev pulled off a shock after knocking out Carlos Alcaraz in his quarter-final clash and will be up against the world No.3 Daniil Medvedev, who is the slight favorite to reach the final for the third time in his career.

Sabalenka seeks revenge

Sabalenka faces Coco Gauff in a meeting that’s likely to feature the women’s champion after their enthralling battle at the US Open saw Gauff, 19, win her maiden Grand Slam.

But this time, the bookmakers seem to believe Sabalenka – the reigning champion at Melbourne Park – can get the better of her American opponent after breezing past ninth seed Barbora Krejicova. She is rated in a similar bracket as Djokovic with odds of -140 with DraftKings and BetMGM.

Yastremska is rated as an underdog as she clashes with the resurgent Chinese starlet Zheng, 21, who has gone the entire tournament without facing a fellow seed after a number of upsets in the women’s draw. At +1400, there is clearly not much Yastremska can pull off an upset.
