Serena Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian have added a new member to the family after welcoming their second child together.
The couple have welcomed a baby girl named Adira River, and they shared the news via a video on social media.
“Welcome my beautiful angel,” Williams captioned the video, loosely quoting Bazzi’s song ‘Beautiful’, which played in the background.
The video shows the couple sitting at a table together before they are joined by their first daughter, five-year-old Olympia.
After that, Williams leaves the table for a moment before returning with the couple’s newest baby. The family all star at the newborn before Olympia plants a kiss on her new baby sister.
Williams and her pregnancy
Williams announced she was pregnant with her second child back in May. She debuted the baby bump at the Met Gala with Ohanian.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us,” Williams wrote on Instagram at the time.
She also shared a video of Olympia’s reaction to the news.
“Are you kidding me?” Olympia asked her parents. “Oh my God, I’m so excited.”
Williams gave birth to Olympia in September 2017, two months before she and Ohanian tied the knot in New Orleans.
The former tennis star told Vogue last year that she was interested in expanding her family.
“We recently got some information from my doctor that put my mind at ease and made me feel that whenever we’re ready, we can add to our family,” she said at the time.
