Ange Postecoglou should consider replacing Harry Kane with Dane Scarlett, who left his mark against Shakhtar Donetsk after replacing the Tottenham striker
Tottenham could save millions on a new striker by simply throwing Dane Scarlett in the deep end – just as they once did with Harry Kane, who now faces an uncertain future in north London. The 30-year-old striker has been heavily linked with an exit from the Lilywhites this summer after entering the final 12-months of his contract.
In the dying embers of the friendly, Dejan Kulusevski found Scarlett unmarked in the box. The teenage sensation was quickly closed down but, showing great composure, he quickly unleashed a lovely strike with his left-foot on the turn.
“We’ve got Alfie Devine with us and Dane Scarlett, who are two young guys who have done really well so far and been with the first team.”
While it may be risky to simply replace Kane with Scarlett, the youngster would be under the same pressure which saw his predecessor flourish and become one of the world’s greatest strikers.
